ESF Community Grants Programme 2008/2010 |

The European Social Fund (ESF) made this programme available to Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector organisations to support disadvantaged or excluded unemployed and inactive people to progress towards employment particularly from the following groups:

People with disabilities and health conditions (including mental ill health)

Lone Parents
-
People aged 50 and over
-
People from ethnic minorities
-
Females
The Funding has been allocated through applications made under six rounds with the last round closing on 26th February 2010.

To develop in-house learning & development opportunities for homeless women creating a culture of learning and self development within the hostel setting adding value to the organisations current resettlement support packages. Identified needs for development include: basic skills, computer literacy, job search, CV writing and interview techniques for paid work and volunteering placements, equality & diversity training, basic first aid and Health and Safety. |

Innovative project looking at carers as well as those with a disability. The project aims to provide individuals with sight loss opportunities to access computers & the internet in community based settings. Adaptive software will be purchased for current PCs and the IT trainer will train volunteers to use the software which will enable timetabled CyberEyes sessions where volunteers will buddy people with sight loss. |
